David C. Markel, MD

Dr. Markel is nationally recognized, board certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult primary and revision joint arthroplasty of the hip and knee. Dr. Markel currently serves as Chair of the Detroit Medical Center / Providence Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and directs the research efforts in the Orthopaedic molecular biology laboratory at Providence Hospital. To date, he has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and has three book chapters to his credit. Dr. Markel was recently honored as an inductee to The Knee Society and is a member of the Board and Chair of the research committee for the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
